I wish I could take a salary "$$" of my actual teacher and give it to you. Great explanation, thanks!

You are my beauty! Much better than the textbook. Don't listen to the h8rs bbs your writing skills are not perfect but it is legible. ❤

Perhaps brushing up on the writing skills would help. Really takes away from the learning experience. That said, good explanation of the concept.
It's rather shameful that I have to check back on these things despite being at university, but hey thank god for youtube.

what if you are not given the end co-ordinates, you are only given one of the three coordinates?
i, e. "find the vector equation of the line BC where B is [40, 0, -20] and the line BC is in the direction 3i + 4j + k and the point C is [?, ?, 0] ?"

This is an assignment question i am struggling with

Found the question you were on about, took some looking, you didn't say HL or SL. Done and uploading, look in my recent uploads and check the How To playlist for IB SL (or HL because it is relevant to that too).

Make x then y the subject and those will be the point coordinates for a; plus lambda by (x)i, (y)j for b given that your other subtracting point can be 0, the origin.
