Why Mamata Banerjee blocked Guv Dhankar on Twitter; Watch his stinging response

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has blocked Governor Jagdeep Dhankar on Twitter. Exclaiming that she was fed up with his posts, Mamata alleged that Dhankar tweeted unconstitutional and unethical things about her government in the state and targeted, threatened her officials every day and treated them as his bonded labourers. She added that she was irritated by his tweets. After TMC MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay asked the President to take action against Dhankar and remove him as the governor of West Bengal, Mamata said that she too had written to the Prime Minister asking for the same. She alleged that the Pegasus snooping row was running from the house of Jagdeep Dhankar, accusing him of tapping the phones of government officials. The move was prompted after Jagdeep Dhankar said that the state had become a gas chamber of democracy at an event to mark Mahatma Gandhi's death anniversary. Jagdeep Dhankar continued to hurl barbs at Mamata on Twitter. After Mamata's move, Dhankar quoted from the constitution and tweeted, "Mandated under Article 159 of the Constitution to ensure none in the state “blocks” Constitutional Norms and Rules of Law and those in authority “bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of India" Watch for more details.
