Pretty incredible movie! I was a little girl first time I saw this. I had no idea then that I would grow up to become a alcoholic. Been sober 21 years now. Life...live it right. It goes so fast, and there’s so much beauty in it!

Just goes to show you the depths that one will go to try and get a drink of alcohol. A very powerful film and performances from both Jack Lemmon and Lee Remick.

I see this as symbolic and I believe it is. The liquor store owner is the booze, and Jack is drowning in it all while he's completely miserable and giving up.

He made some pretty weird noises in this one but good movie, very memorable.

So did this really happen or did he hallucinate it? I assume the latter because it's extremely unlikely an actual liquor store owner would waste his product this way.
