Short German Longhaired Pointer description:
The German Longhaired Pointer is a very elegant, athletic and strong dog breed with average height between 58-70 cm, which is 23-28 inch and weight is typically around 30 kg, which is 66 pounds. The females are typically little bit smaller than males.

Great fact is, that the German Longhaired Pointer is a relatively low maintenance breed. They do require some brushing to prevent tangles and mats, but no other grooming is needed. They do shed, but it is nothing terrible. Just like with all dogs, you should also regularly check the dogs ears, eyes, teeth and nails and clip them or clean them if needed.

My LHGP died in august last year from some sort of stomach problem that came on quickly over a couple of moths. The vet couldnt work out what it was, maybe poison we dont know. Miss her so much. She was an absolute nut case and a sop at the same time. Best dog weve had as a family. Nearly cried watching this but thanks for the memories x

I fell in love with the most gorgeous and affectionate, small and delicate brown longhaired pointer at Crufts (UK) a few years ago, possibly the one in 2020 just before pandemic halted the world. The dog was on the Discover Dogs stand and despite going to Crufts several times before, i had never come across this breed! The owner was amazing, enthusiastic about the breed, willing to chat and very relaxed with his dogs... the dog's name that i fell in love with? She was called Ivy! She looked so similar to the Ivy in this video that i would be unsurprised to learn that it was her 🤷🏻‍♀️ what would the chances be?! It would be awesome if it was possible to find out from Ivy's owner.
