Afterschool Universe is an out-of-school-time astronomy program for middle school students that explores basic astronomy concepts through engaging hands-on activities and then takes participants on a journey through the Universe beyond the Solar System.

This video shows a simple kinesthetic activity that models the life cycle of a star with a mass similar to our sun.

I have a assessment at high school tomorrow and I didn't really understand a lot about the formation of stars but this has given me some hope that I understand the topic and can apply my knowledge from this video to the exam questions, thank you so much, plus this has helped me with my homework about stars. after reading countless books about space and stars, one thing I could never understand is why the star would get bigger as its core would fuse heavier elements. This video finally made me understand what is going on. Thanks!
