Nothing will ever be as good as season #1 but I have enjoyed this season. Just wish the show was 8 episodes. It's moving way to fast. To many characters. It's a good time on a Sunday night.

Nah! Theres something about Louisiana! Russ and Marty forever. Love Jodie Foster tho. 2 leads in season 4 are excellent. Story lets them down. Plz episode 6 prove me wrong. Episode 5 took an upturn.

From my opinion a lot of supernatural stuff are actually often seen through Navarro’s perspective (ghosts vision, etc.), I wouldn’t be surprised that she is involved in the case - became crazy/schizophrenia after Wheeler/Annie K cases, mentally instable (her past/sister shows it) …

I tried to like this season. Ep 1. came out of the gate strong but it just got successively worse. Spoilers follow




How does pollution not skew test results with the organic microorganisms you are studying? Why did a group of academics brutally beat someone to death for ruining a project, ordinary people don’t escalate like that? How did a group of civilians conduct an armed raid and hostage exfiltration without leaving any evidence whatsoever? Why did these apparently bloodthirsty scientists not fight back at all when they were ordered into the ice naked, eating a bullet would be a huge improvement over the other possibilities? How did the detectives miss that these ice caves were about 50-200 feet from the research station? How did they even miss the underground lab, this wasn’t a secret military installation there would have been blueprints? Why did the caribou commit suicide in ep1? Why does a remote town with no dentist have a full hospital with an L1 trauma center and a Silicon Valley-style campus for the mine HQ? Why did Rose help cover up a felony murder of a LEO with little to no prompting (and why is she so good at hiding bodies)? Why did Oliver Tagaq drop everything (gun included) to run, but took the time to leave the spooky spiral? How did Danvers punch through the ice into the ocean, aren’t they right outside the research station with an extensive underground cave network? How did Annie K draw her conclusions about the mine’s connection to the labs with some scattered papers? How did the coast guard spot a body in the North Sea at night, ID it with no clothes or documents, and contact next of kin within 8 hours on Christmas Eve (maybe they were the true detectives all along)? Finally, why on earth did the directors choose a minor key shifted version of Save Tonight for their dark mystery show with a straight face?

Apart from season 1 this is easly the best True Detective season.

I liked it for what it has to offer. I am never gonna compare one season to another if the story is not same. Both different worlds. True detective s4 has a lot of problems of its own, for starters less episodes. Should have been 8. I hope they stick the landing and leave an open ending for s2 of night country.

On first episode still. Please tell me there will be Aliens. the first 10mins it felt like a horror series to me lol
I thought this was a police drama show. And no, I haven't see the first 3 seasons, the trailer for this one had me. Looked good and I'm enojoying it so far

I put s4 in the bad category somewhere between s2 and s3. Although some stuff has potential, it unfortunately leads to nowhere, bummer
