Sam crying when Mercedes is stood on the stage in the red dress gives me goosebumps every single time i watch this performance. She really loved him and he really loved her. Despite how much the writers ruined both of their characters, they were always endgame. Everyone expected Sam to go for someone blonde, skinny and ‘perfect’ but he really truly loved Mercedes and that is so important.
