Thing is. In the Witcher there are sea serpents, or in folklore even on the physical map you get in the disc case. Wonder if in the next game they will have harpoon hunting for such creatures, obviously they'd be smaller but you get the idea

This makes sailing the empty skellige seas even more terrifying. I swear the scariest part about this game is sailing across the vast empty water

I have mild thalassophobia, i remember swimming and sailing every part of skellige to look for loot (not worth it btw), and finding an edge to the world.

Theres a part of the game where the land has a steep drop to pitch black pit, and i could see whales swimming in the distance. That alone was enough for me to nope out of there

I have bad Thalassophobia, but my brain really want to watch it

well, obviously nothing make you screen shake this way in the Witcher 3, and this leviathan is obviously from Subnautica. Welp, would have still shivered if I didn't scaled down the video to a 4th of my screen. Also, the absence of underwater ambiance sound helps

Reminds me of Gothic 2 were you'd just get eaten by some giant creature if you swim to far into the sea instead of just being stopped by an invisible wall.
