Debra’s anger stems from Ray and his mom. He was an idiot man child that never did anything to help Deb out around the house, and his mom not only coddled him, she criticized everything she did. He was a lousy husband and Marie was a terrible MIL.

I grew up with this show, and I always thought that Debra was the most patient and understanding of all the characters. Every time she lost her shit, I would be like "yea, i get it... you are right". As a teenager, Debra became an ideal of mine as a "perfect wife" (whatever thats supposed to mean....)

Debra was so honest, while Raymond was always denieing, dancing around trying to kerp himself out of any conflict. And who loved his wife, but loved not having to do anything in regard to housework, raising their kids, taking responsibility for 1/2 of the relationship etc. Raymond never eanted to be an adult. But somehow in this show these very serious and common issues were presented in mature, funny and realistic episodes. So funny.

I really don't blame Debra for being mad at Ray because he doesn't do anything to help with anything.. except for his writing career as a sports writer and he calls her stupid pet names and everything and always talks about her to his friends.. and makes jokes about her cooking.. unbelievable

And poor Robert. He was the BEST & ONLY decent on of the Barones. Can’t blame his anger, disdain for Raymond. But, still loved him & looked out for Ray, as a GOOD brother DOES & SHOULD.
Again, was was as fair as Debra when confronting & accountability w/ Ray, Marie & Frank.
I always kinda saw myself a little in Robert. Both big guys, trying to stay on right path despite our upbringing & badly effected by selfishness in blood line. And his love for dogs.

It’s bad enough his family IS NUTZ, but Amy’s is cooky, too.
Especially, Peter.

Being a cop must’ve helped Robert in a different therapeutic way.
