Watching several Ibex Goats climb a Mountain across from the Siemen Mountain's Peak, (over 13 thousand feet above sea level) in Ethiopia when reaching the peak. Truly an amazing experience moment, no words 🤍

I think the reason why some people are very good at climbing nearly vertical walls is because their origins go wayyy back to Ibex's.

Unfortunately the footage of the animals running through the snow (1:56) are not Ibex. They are Chamois. Similar mountain goat like species. But a different species none the less. Different horns, markings, behaviour and all the rest. It is Chamois that can do all the jumping and running and cool athletic stuff. Sorry to be a nause. haha

There are six extant species of ibex, the West Asian Ibex (Capra aegagrus), the Himalayan Ibex (Capra himalayensis (formerly Capra sibirica)), the Alpine Ibex (Capra ibex), the Iberian Ibex (Capra pyrenaica), the Nubian Ibex (Capra nubiana), and the Walia Ibex (Capra walie), the West Asian Ibex or Wild Goat (Capra aegagrus) is not only the most basal extant species of ibex, but also the ancestor of the Domestic Goat (Capra aegagrus hircus), meaning that the domestic goat is an ibex, an ibex is any goat that belongs to the genus Capra.

It's their rectangular eyes makes them see heights differently they can rotate their heads but the pupils stay parallel to the ground also the feet shape is crucial to their climb

I ran a pandemic relief load out to ft Davis tx during the pandemic, I had one of these run out in the road in front of me. My kenworth turned it in to a pancake. It looked like it was wanting to ram into me. It stood in the road and rared up and charged at me. He lost that battle.
