Beware of IRS text scam $1,400

🚨 IRS Scam Alert: $1,400 Rebate Fraud 🚨

Scammers are getting smarter. They follow the news, and now they’re using a real IRS rebate program to trick people. Right now, they’re sending out texts and videos claiming you’re eligible for a $1,400 IRS rebate—all you have to do is click a link and enter your info. The catch? That link looks legit but is actually stealing your personal data.

This scam is based on a real IRS program from December, when $2.4 million in rebates went out to people who missed COVID relief payments. The scammers are using this info to make their scheme sound credible.

⚠️ Another scam to watch out for: Fake early tax refund offers! They’ll promise you fast cash, but the only thing they’re delivering is identity theft. It happened to my neighbor’s dad, and now he’s dealing with a mess.
