By the way, Kurzgesagt made that video in response to some youtuber claiming all kinds of apocalyptic results from detonating a nuke at the Mariana trench, presenting it as fact without any scientific source to back it up.

Tsar bomb was detonated in 1961 on the Russian arctic island of Nova Zembla. They used half its capacity because even the Soviets were unsure if the bomber dropping it could outrun the blast at full yield.
It shattered windows as far as Helsinki, some 1 000 km away, according to some sources. And yes, seismographs detected the shockwave all over the globe 3 times.
