Coconut water makes fabulous kefir soda. I love how it tastes, and how easy it is to make. It has 10 times the probiotics and 5 times the probiotic yeasts that kefir sodas made with fruit juices have. You can have 236 billion good bacteria in a cup! It reduces the sugars to almost zero and is only made with 3 ingredients. Find out more in the podcast.

On my various kitchen counters, thanks to recently finding Donna’s podcasts: sourdough starter, kefir and second ferment kefir, her soda fermenting, yummy cucumber kimchi, tomato ferment, l reuteri and l gasseri, and what else? I think that’s it. 😜

As someone predisposed to forming calcium carbonate kidney stones, and someone trying to get the most benefit from kefir soda, I am going to go this route with your kefir soda culture that I ordered and received. Many thanks for this helpful info.

Today, I said, my chicken two kefir grains after I couldn’t get her to drink the Kiefer thinking this might help her. She’s acting weak and silly. I will keep you posted now that I have those greens inside of her. I’m thinking she’s going to do well. We’ll see?

If I was to add coconut water to kefir whey - would that work? I'd be missing the Boulardii without the starter, but looking to use up some whey left over from kefir cheese, and the starter culture is out of my budget right now.
Currently this is raw milk kefir, but switching to coconut kefir in the next week...

I love the detail in your podcasts - have learned so much, so thank you!

I'm going to forget to burp the bottle for sure. A bottle explosion sounds horrible. Is there a lid that will release gasses as they build up? Maybe a loose screw on cap?

Hi Donna, I have a grandson (3 years old) who has multiple allergies but will not eat yogurt or drink kefir. I'm thinking that he might like kefir soda if it tastes good. How do you add flavor to the coconut water kefir soda? Pretty sure he won't drink it straight up without some yummy flavors added.
