The best most concise and informative review by far.
You go over everything perfectly, sparing us all the candy shots of other reviewers
The "design" chapter is especially sharp - you move the camera around and give us a good look at how it's profiles appear.
you are the only reviewer who actually demonstrates how the LCD tilts. !!!!
Great demonstration on it's usage as well.
Thank you

I bought this bad boy a few years back in Japan with lens kit. It’s an excellent camera and does most things you could ever want. It’s the perfect entry camera to get you started. You couldn’t wish for anything more.

Great review, 'to the point',
Factual information, good comparisons with older & above models, listing camera's strength's & limitations.
What a difference it makes when the information takes 7 minutes & not 14 or 21 !

More pixels on the same size sensor means pixels are actually smaller, thus if all things are equal it wont work as well in lower light than a sensor with less pixels.
Sure the advances in cmos design goes someway to balance this.
Good example is the canon 5d mk2 21mp full frame providing much cleaner low light shots than the 51mp mk4 using the same glass, there's only so much that can be done.
Will the mega pixels war ever end, more isn't better, it may allow for a little more cropping but it often doesn't perform as well in lower light conditions

I've read a lot of criticisms about this camera in reviews, BUT there are a lot of great reasons to buy it! For me, it was size and price-a much better option than a compact camera-which I originaly considered-and not much bigger! 16MP ok for most of us and anyway, having a newer processor will help with image processing. For experienced users who are familiar with previous versions, it would be easy to find fault with some of the settings and the logic of them. But for new buyers-even experienced ones-the value for money, and anyone who was looking to buy an actual small compact with zoom, this is a far better option even if you have to swap lenses! Consider the Sony RX100 Mark VI and the price of that!!! I have only used an RX1004 and had no grip and was terrible for me!! The Olympus is almost a third of the price!! And the OMD em-10 Mark 3 looks great too. Many prefer the mark 2 and that is a really good option too. But for new buyers I think the Mark 3 is worth it. And being a MFT camera you will always have a fantastic range of Olympus or Panasonic lenses-most small and compact-to choose. All the Panasonic lenses, either old or new that I have are just the best!! Shame about no weather sealing on the Olympus, but there are some cheap rain covers and I do wonder how good weather sealing can be anyway!

I'm new to the camera market, and can't choose yet between em10 mark iii or the Panasonic g80/g85.

Hi did you shoot the picture of the small bird with the kit lense or is this shot taken with a portrait lense? Thanks!

It kills me that they didn't put a mic jack on this. I bought a SEMA-1 kit for my E-PL5, but I take it that won't work on this camera?

Hey, I'm thinking about getting em10 mark iii or canon g7x mark ii for vlogging purpose. But I'd like to be able to take some decent photographs as well. Which one do you recommend me getting? Thank you all.

I like the fact that it’s small, but i shoot quite a lot so I had to buy a third party metal grip that makes it handle 100 times better. Overall, the em10 is really great even for pro work. 16 megapixels will do for 90% of use. It lacks a little in low light ON PAPER. My canon has a bigger sensor so technically, it should do better in low light, but the Olympus has OIS in body which lets you go much slower in terms of shutter speed without blur, so it is better for what I use it with.

Is there any way to disable all the icons on the screen during photography as I can barely see through them all to take the picture!

The 16mp sensor is more than enough for the majority of needs ....

May i know if Mk3 is suitable for wildlife photography? It focuses based on contrast detection right? Is it able to track quickly compared to system that works on phase detection? Do you suggest any other from Olympus or Fuji considering the fact that I'm budget oriented. Thanks

@digiDirect I'm on the hunt for a somewhat budget friendly action sports (cycling) mirrorless camera. Working with a $500 budget ideally. Would you recommend this camera as a good entry level camera (coming from smart phone photos) or would you have any other camera recommendations ?

Does the camera have an build in microphone though? I know camera mic's aren't good at all but it's nice to have some sound at least
