quitting social media makes you feel like a kid again.

You have no idea how much I needed to hear this. As a 15 year old male, it's unbelievably difficult to just put the phone down. This opened my eyes, and I want to work on changing. Thank you so much, may God bless you, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

can someone else acknowledge that this guy just spoke for 20 minutes straight, no editing with such clarity. And everything just made sense and flowed so well. More credit for that

No phone an hour before bed is the best decision I have ever made. It stops endless scrolling until 2am and makes it easier to fall asleep

You 21 talking like this? I salute you man, very mature for your age. Everything you mentioned in this video is so relatable

As a 24 year old I totally agree! Just getting outside for a walk/hike and taking in nature is so healing & peaceful

What frustrates me is how many things require or expect you to have a phone. It's weird how many things require you to scan qr codes, use the app to do stuff, apply online, etc etc.

I'm 43 and please believe this old lady, growing up without a phone was so much better. I'm now even addicted to it, trying to give myself a digital detox and feel myself becoming lighter and more focused on the things that really matter.

I can't even imagine growing up with one, and being immersed in that constantly online culture from my childhood days. I was just outside every day playing with the neighbour kids and in nature.

My problem with over social media is that you don’t see yourself anymore. You don’t see your efforts or progress because there’s always someone doing better. Yes there’s always someone doing better but that’s not you business, that’s not for you. People don’t enjoy nor celebrate their wins anymore and it’s so sad.

20 years old speaking like this is a blessing. So much wisdom already. God bless

Dad of three kids here (Jr high and High Schoolers)

I don’t allow my kids to have traditional phones. They have what’s called a Gabb phone. No internet, no social media, no crap. PERIOD. They can make calls and text friends. That’s it.

When my kids friends come over they all stare at their phones. The parents know it but aren’t willing to do anything about it. They won’t remove it, they won’t mitigate it, they know they don’t like it, they know how long their kids waste their hours away, they know what it does to their kids self worth and confidence. But they aren’t willing to “bother” their child to better their life. And I know any parent who is offended by this….knows it too.

I haven’t sat and just listened to a random person in a very long time…I’m glad I came across this

Quitting social media was probably one of the best things i've done in life. No more brainrot. So much space has freed up in my mind

I deleted social media and it blew my mind how much I didn’t miss it once I was out of the loop. I found entertainment in conversation and reading books, something I struggled with prior. Having the ability to be bored again was actually a blessing. Anyone thinking about it, just do it.

Real. Theres something so dystopian about everyone on their phones everywhere you go. At the bus stop, school, work lunch room, the library, the coffee shop, etc.

this made me freaking cry. im 27, and i was super lucky to grow up with 90s/early 2000s music. flip phones. drawing on the sidewalk with chalk. playing with the lightning bugs outside. playing in the rain and in the mud. playing in the sprinkler in the summer. running around barefoot outside and scraping up my big toes and knees. going to the pool and lake during the summer. eating popsicles on a warm day. jumping on the trampoline in our backyard. playing on our ps2, grand theft auto, vice city, and dance dance revolution/etc etc. ipods. barbies.

playing house with our friends. riding our bicycles. LEARNING how to ride a bicycle for the first time down our driveway. running and running and running around, playing, sweating. drinking out of the hose. giving our dogs a bath in the front yard with that same hose. our family computer, watching the pipe screensaver, playing minesweep and windows pinball games. polly pockets. gameboy color and gameboy advance. I could go ON and on about it all. This video really put things into perspective for me. It really is the damn phone. It really is.
