Top notch. You are a natural teacher…meaning that I learned a lot without realizing it until it was finished. One tip: I gather up leaves and cut grass from around my neighbourhood. I always add a couple of buckets of soil to the mix. It composts much faster. I ‘think’ the microbes in the soil act as a catalyst.

I love these videos. I've been doing all these methods for 6 years in my small backyard and my soil is absolutely awesome now. Anything I grow is a success.

Totally agree with you "Feed the soil and not the plant". But also wouldn't tilling the farm distrurb all the micro-organisms in the soil?

Jag, thanks once more for your valuable information. One of the best things about your videos, compared to those of so many others, is your direct approach to providing the information indicated in the title of each video. No extraneous info that takes up my valuable time. Thanks again.
Hoping to meet you when I visit your neck of the woods in May; but you have to open up the farm mid-week. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

Last year I prepped an area that had previously been covered with black plastic in summer to kill off weeds and seeds, so it was hard, barron, and no visible signs of worms while digging. So, I dug down about 1.5-2 ft and threw in landscape material, branches, ground eggshells, alfalfa pellets, food scraps, diced banana peels, coffee grounds + shredded paper, etc, . When I covered it back up, I also mixed in a bit of mushriom compost and raiaed bed soil. Then I wet it down and covered it with cardboard to keep the moisture in and for worms to have cover. Well, let me tell you, the worms loved it and all came to that party! 🪱🪱🪱

I dug this 2 months before planting corn in that section and it totally thrived! It's like a below ground compost/huglekulture bed. I planted a pumpkin next to it that was prolific, but pumpkins elsewhere took forever to produce both branches and fruit.

I saw someone on YT use 2 gallon buckets to direct compost in garden beds, which I may try this year in existing beds. She cut the bottoms out, made larege holes around the sides, then buried all but 1/4 at top. Threw in shredded cardboard, food scraps, green and brown material, then put a lid on it. You can keep throwing in the small materials to directly compost in the beds until full of vermicompost. The worms also carry all that vermicompost throughout the bed, as well.

Thank you soooo much for posting your videos, they are all very well done, solutions are simple and are a joy to watch over and over. We are new to vegetable gardens, your information is excellent and will definitely implement what you do. Working full time, kids, and learning to grow a garden keeps us very busy, it does not allow much time to troubleshoot problems or learn how to do things better before planting. A big thank you for taking the time to make videos and share your knowledge, we truly appreciate all you do!

I wanted to add one thing to all of your wonderful knowledge.
If you like fishing, you can bury unused fish parts or whole fish deep in the planting hole... put some soil on top and then plant tomatoes.
It keeps on feeding and produces a huge a tasty crop of tomatoes.
( After I wrote this comment, I started to read the comments from others... It seems many of you out there know about this fish fertilizer too! A big plus... it is simple. )

My grandfather started taking me fishing at about 5. We always (mostly him) caught a healthy amount of fish which we took home, cleaned and threw remains in bucket. Then he used a hoe and we burying them in rows in the garden. I would add the left over worms we did not use we got from the bait shop. He always had a nice but simple garden. All organic. He fished a lot.
