Ya know I don't think Alec parents really ever ask him to do anything it was more like a strong request or a demand in asking from. I am glad that Alec listened to Magnus and did as his heart wanted. Sure their relationship took many hits and sadly sometimes they were the ones who cause them and it sadly seemed over but they always found their way back to each other every time. Love the song it fits both of them perfectly.
