In this episode of ThePrint #SharpEdge, Author & Columnist Vir Sanghvi says that even if the Congress can demonstrate it is battle-ready, it still has to contend with the Prime Ministerial dreams of every regional leader before any effective front can be formed, and opposition cannot defeat BJP in 2024 without a strong PM.

That point of “deep in the psyche of the Indian voter is entrenched the firm belief that no coalition of regional parties can ever provide a stable good govt at the Centre” is spot on. We all as Indians value stability as a key virtue for progress.✨

There is a joke among Bengalis that Mamata should become PM as why will only Bengal suffer let India too suffer!

Opposition unity is like food item made by mixture of biryani, curd rice, pizza, noodles, sambar rice, pasta....

Superb Analysis. I add that at present there is no National Alternative to Shri Narendra Modi. Mr Modi has given much better governance at centre than previous Congress, and UPA goverments. His honesty, hardworking abilities, and decisive leadership has produced positive results. There may have been some shortcomings, but India is in much better position than 10 years before. Progress is very much visible on ground and good work is in progress.

During the end of his CM tenure Modi made many public international visits including China, Indians have been associating Geopolitics with the PM role since he came into the scene, there is no one who takes an initiative like him to create a Global image.

Modi 3.0 is sealed with 2-3rd majority ( 300 + ) seats.

Modi is the only option for 2024 if India has to move forward and develop as a nation. What have the opposition given for public except corruption and appeasement politics

SC n Kolkata High Court had to intervene to make sure the WB panchayat election will be held peacefully n fairly which is a damming statement on Mamata style of governance which is with iron fist n violence against her opponents.
Already 8 people hv been killed by violence done by her cadres during nominations.
Yet she says she wants to save democracy in India n all the media n journalists that support opposition tells the same to the public and these media conveniently nv say a word about the violence in WB.

The difference between Modi and Rahul is huge, no survey or election results can tell you how big the gap really is.
To understand the difference just look at what both of these leaders spoke about India and Indians on their respective US visits most recently.
While Modi projects the positive side of India everywhere he goes (which is his job as he's in power), Rahul cannot stop putting India, Indians and Indian culture down on every foreign visits he does.

Pm Modi ji will come back in 2024 with 300 plus seats definitely. He will serve the nation till 2029. There is no doubt in that. Only bjp can save my great country. Because of bjp our culture and traditions are glorified and identify entire world..

Jai modi, Jai Amit shah, jai Yogi, jai annamalai, Jai bjp, Jai bjp, Jai hind.

Actually Congress leading the opposition is advantage BJP, and BJP wants Congress to be in the forefront. BJP knows that if Congress leads, it means Rahul Gandhi becomes the opposition's PM candidate. And when it's Modi vs Rahul, Modi always wins hands down.

Enjoyed your analysis Mr.Sangivi. 👍
I want, who ever is good for my country in the centre, that's Modiji & his team presently & in near future. In 10 yrs from here on , BJP itself may become irrelevant. We may not need any strategies to send them packing. But now they are the best for our country's progress.

I'd respectfully disagree to statements. That congress could make a comeback, Rahul is being looked with a different angle!

More than ever - Congress is looking in disarray. They won KA because people are fed up of lack of a BJP leader face despite being the bright state. BJP local leaders fought on wrong issues. Kharge along with DKS and Siddarammaiah, fought a campaign keeping aside their differences for now. They divided their pies very well for now. But everyone knows that both are corrupt and incapable.

Now, if you see at centre, Rahul is still cribbing about India in overseas. If he wants to put out, he needs to fight on issues that matter to India. And I think he still needs to understand the current psyche of Indians and new gen. We don't want to lose, we want to WIN. OR we want to fight losing but want to put up a fight. Rahul is picturising that India is lost or losing, while people don't want to hear that.

Let us see!

Undoubtedly i will vote for a stable, committed, progressive, futurstic and diplomatically powerfull govt....
First we need a developed nation with more number of jobs and job creators(less dependent on the lazy govt jobs) after that we can think of Sickularism, Freedom of speech and Human rights....

True! There is no PM material in sight, in the opposition. And, who want to see some 15 + party leaders and their cronies jostling for union minister chairs and selfishly pushing for a share of each and every ‘cake’ proposed to be baked for the people.
