Thank you for dissecting it in an intelligent way. I like your take on it. Think about certain reminders (i.e. smells and feelings) in life that make time stand still and silent, that take you back to a particular resounding moment in life that has changed you.
I try to keep things a little open for interpretation and I guess "cryptic", but there are common ideas people will come up with which I think is great...I like people to use their imagination and connect to each song in their own way.

I'll marry the first woman I hear randomly listening to Ne Obliviscaris.

This is God's music.

I was listening to this when I went snowboarding last year, watching the sun beaming on the peaks of snow-capped mountains as the track came to an end with those majestic vocalizations and strings... That's one of those moments you forever tie to a song. Life is good. Thank you NeO.

This is... very beautiful. I cannot understand how some people cant see the beauty metal can have. This is plainly, a beautiful piece.

Far and away the best song with the word "Petrichor" in its title.

I can think of only one band that achieved a similar level of perfection in their composition and that would be Opeth in Still Life, Blackwater Park and Ghost Reveries. Now I listen to this and then Citadel. I can say that this band is one of the best I've ever listened to. Fucking masterpiece.

petrichor is the smell of rain (or the sediment in rain) and i guess black noise is wordplay against white noise which can describe the sound of rain hitting the ground. thats deep bro....

I’ll never grow tired of this masterpiece. Something about a metal band that can meld heaviness with beautiful melody gets me good
