LucasFilm kicking off a new era of story telling with the High Republic. This is a set of stories set 200 years before Phantom Menace. Star Wars Light of the Jedi is one of the new launch titles for this new era of storytelling.

I've been excited to see Star Wars stories in a new era. So here is my book review.

Sean, if you like Count Dooku then I recommend Dooku: Jedi Lost, it is unbelievably great. My favorite character is Count Dooku so I am a little biased. You should check it out.

Almost down with Part 2 of the book and I absolutely love this! I love how Charles Soule describes The Force like a symphony of music. He also does a good job of making the Jedi feel like real people... I mean it made me care about a Wookie Jedi that no one can understand so it’s doing something right. Also the villains are so interesting and different from what we’ve seen in the movies. I was nervous I wouldn’t care about a villain that didn’t have red lightsabers, but they really really work!

While I have some doubts about the high republic cause off some handling of the storyplot, but willing to give it a go for myself to know and see a different. It be nice to see what this era be like and if it’s good or bad for me, but interested in th Elliot and other factions than just Sith or Mandalorians the Jedi fought.

at first, I wasn't excited for this era I thought it would be a bad knockoff of the old republic, but I was very pleasantly surprised, this is one of the best Canon star wars books I have ever read, the idea for this time period is very original. I also like the idea of the great disaster, as like a precursor to interdictor cruisers

I enjoyed the book, it is a solid start to a new era, there are some issues I have with is as well. I think that it introduces too many characters, and doesn't give enough 'screen time' to the more major characters. I believe a lot of that stems from the fact that this book is setting up a brand new era of Star Wars, so it doesn't have previous material to fall back on in order to flesh things out or provide more detail (which I am sure will appear in later books). I would have liked a little more about the villains in the book because they don't jump out at me just yet. I honestly liken this book to Vector Prime, the first book in the NJO, if Vector Prime had been the first Star Wars book in the old EU post-Endor era. It will be interesting to see where they go from here

Interesting review. I absolutely agree with you on "smaller scale" books (many of which are still very enjoyable s.a. Lost Stars). This is the first novel to have that EPIC Star Wars magic!!! + I LOVED THE NON-WARRIOR JEDI. Refreshing to see someone who actually READ the book and expressed his honest opinion.
