Funny thing is, in the first game making your party exclusively female is actually more advantageous than having a male in it. Ogres are not that hard early on, but their post-game variant which prefers men are displeased when trying to eat women. There is also only one side among the two bandit tribes that prefer strictly female party members--else you have to use a disguise.

Probably because in the character creator you can easily create only female khajiit and male dwarves, everyone else looks like abominations without hours of trial and error.
