It's always good to know how to use command line tools but it's not necessarily more efficient. However knowing command line APIs is great if you need to create certain programs or scripts for automation.

Like I made some simple scripts to start everthing I need to work that I run once a day. Probably saves me a minute a day and took like 30 minutes to write.

I consider this field more as a field about learning than anything. “Real programmers” will eventually start using the mouse less and less because it is such a waste of time in most cases. There is ALWAYS someone out there that think they can optimize something and will share it.

You are no less of a “real programmer” because you use your mouse. You are however less of a programmer if you refuse to learn new things and put them to use

I'm a real programmer then because when i was a teenager my mom used to took away computer mouse so I didnt play games but I learned how to run FIFA using only keyboard.
