I agree, I avoid any upfront post, and go to search, I don't engage with what is displayed on opening, so I said to myself, my postings wouldn't be any different, and decided the investment of Promote Plus, wouldn't be sufficient for me.

I totally agree. When I see "promoted' or anything like it on pretty much a site I automatically ignore it. I'm not exactly sure why but I've been using the internet for 20+ years now and I think subconsciously when I see "ad" or "promoted" I think it's going to take me to some sketchy off site page.

With offerup if my item hasn't sold in 3 or 4 weeks I might archive/mark as sold and just take new pictures and list it again. Is there a downside to that? Am I breaking some rule?

I have found paintr to be another good marketplace. The only downside, it is for home improvement tools and supplies but you can rent out your tools on there!

what I do is post something and after about a week I delete it and repost it again and it goes right back up to the top

I think its jus another way to make money. Either its going to sale or not. I think they actually hide your ad unless you pay them. The algorithm may play apart

How do I cancel promote plus? They charged me before I could figure out how to cancel within three days and I still can't cancel. Someone please help. Offerup instructions are not helping and I'm pretty good technically.

If you don't pay to promote your item it just sits there for months. So offer up is not free. The promoting feature is PAYING! That's how they make money off you. So no it's not free. Nothing is free in america remember that. It should be promoted automatically if offer up is free.
