If one really thought about it:

You would only need a motion capture camera. A omnidirectional floor and a tool to interact with the VR world.

If you wanted to go full sensory immersion you could have a 'dimpled' pressure pocket body suit. Hot or cold air would be pumped into these said 'dimples' according to the force appropriate set out by the VR game. This suit could hypothetically restrict movement again according to the parameters set out by the physics engine.

I've tried the Virtuix Omni (Approx a 15 min demo) and it is easily the Best by far... My mind was BLOWN! So easy, simple to use and cool!

Highly recommend!

can you jump and turn at the same time?

Virtuix omni seems like the best option. I think any omnidirectional treadmill that actually has to move is going to run into too many problems like stopping and starting quickly. Real question is when will any of these be released?

J cant even imagine how weird it would feel sliding your feet along the surface in socks, that tingling feeling you get when you do it.

I'm thinking something like the Kat Walk, except longer, with a bigger bottom that allows you to go prone, but at the same time sit too. So, it would have to be a type of gizmo that could bear the weight of you sitting on the thing, and hover around a sitting position, while at the same time, you can lay on the ground and it would be around your waist. You could crawl around too. However... You'd also have a problem in which you'd want to roll on your back while in VR so you could look up at the ceiling, and that's something I'm not sure how you'd make it work on that type of thing, unless you were to do a sort of Amusement Park ball ride, where they strap you to the ball, and spin you around in circles type complexity.

Natural walk wants the feet to keep it's orientation while the hips are falling omnidirectionnally. Slippery surface makes the feet goes everywhere like on ice. Feet should slide omnidirectionnaly, ok, alway but keeping it's orientation once sliding on the floor.
