Their New tour starts today in Japan. All sold out shows. These ladies have it all..Passion 🔥 Work 💪 Heart ❤️ Talent 🤘Magical band, amazing musicians, humble humans. After Saki’s( first solo lady)left five months ago, there was lot of discussion what now. They took breath two months and came back stronger and heavier than ever. Nemophila - "baby blue eyes" flower, "Rurikarakusa" in Japanese; grows in N-America and is appreciated in Japan (see "Hitachi Seaside Park").
The band was formed in 2019, originally as a "session" brought together by...
Mayu - the vocalist (ex- Lipstick band);
Haraguchi-san - (ex- HöLDERLINS band) bass, backing vocals, was Mayu's friend and colleague from Music College;
Tamu Murata - drums, backing vocals, one the most respected session musician in Japan (countless bands), with also her own original carrier; she's also the wife of Akira Yamaoka, musician/composer, known especially for his videogames OSTs, in particular for "Silent Hill";
Saki (ex - "Mary's Blood" band for a decade, "Destrose", and others), she's a "young sacred monster" in J-metal) guitar, backing vocals, and...
Hazuki (KOIAI "Dark Indigo" / Li-sa-X, Disqualia bands) - guitar, backing vocals; both, Saki and Hazuki have a lot of experience.

Unfortunately, Saki left the band in march 2024, after the Budokan concert, thinking that her contribution was enoug after more than 4-5 years, pursuing her - successful - solo carrier.
The band continues in the 4 members form, with Mayu starting to add guitar bits while Haraguchi-san's bass, and Hazuki's guitar becomes more prominent.

Nemophila, with their self-declared "Jigoku no Yurufuwa" (soft and fluffy hell) general metal-rock style, made an amazing fandom impression during the pandemic, thru Youtube clips...
...so far about 50 Western/Japanese awesomely bonkers covers, and about 40 original, freakishly insane good songs (singles, EPs - including the JPURecords' Extended Edition of "Oiran", 3 albums - "Revive", "Seize The Faith", "Evolve").

- Creature, Breaking Out... released only on Revive (It's Nice To Finally Meet Blu-ray; they are performed sometimes in concerts; Breaking Out... released during their first live stream in 2020, and Rizing Nemo in 2023;

- Blooming... released only on the official Nemophila Youtube channel, and performed sometimes in concerts.

- Ultramarine/Gunjō performed in the second part of the 19 June 2021 stream.

Nemophila is a rabbit hole all their own. You got their originals and then their covers. Ama Te Ras, Oiran, newest song G.O.D. with the 4 member line up. Covers: Linkin Park - Givin up, Detroit Rock CIty by Kiss, Walk by Foo Fighters, Halestorm's Love bites. to just name a very few.

Nice to get another fellow Brit into the fold bit late LOL .Nemophila are one superb band bringing a fusion of metal and heavy rock into the modern music world appealing to all .As good as Revive is it doesn't even get in my top 5 from them .Plenty more on there YT +some very cool covers . Try Oiran the evolution version where they have gone to a 4 piece now or just jump in to the new one G.O.D. Also there live stage shows are right up there with the best .Have fun

They are fire, seen them live twice in SoCal. Check out out Zen, Dissension, Ana-Te-Ras and G.O.D. for some more thrashier tracks. Very versatile band. Mayu is a beast on vocals. As with a majority of these all-female Japanese bands, the musicianship is off the charts. My fav band not named Lovebites.

Recently one of the guitarists, Saki, left the band, but they are still cranking out AWESOME metal as a 4 piece.

As others have said (or implied), they're a super versatile band. The focus is on the heavy, so that's definitely a plus. I'd recommend Adabana, Oiran (live), Rise and Raitei. Great songs to headbang to. They also have slower-paced and moving songs like Life, Odyssey and Yell. Their newest song G.O.D. was released just 2 days ago, as a 4-piece band. Give that one a listen as well
