as a belgian i have to say one thing it's not because it's popular that people are waiting so long it's because it's because it's a fry shop fries are kind of part of our national dish but besides that i can agree with the opinions

You had a Brussels waffle. Those have thin ribs and are crispy.
You can take Liégeois waffles if you want thick and soft.
