Klobuchar says Trump uses racist rhetoric to energize base, distract from issues

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Amy Klobuchar admonished President Trump’s continued attacks on four freshmen congresswomen and his lack of concern after a crowd of rally goers chanted ‘Send her back!’ about Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.). ‘When he stood basking in that chant, ‘send her home,’ he didn’t stop that chant.” Klobuchar added that Trump’s rhetoric not only energizes his base, it serves as a distraction. “He does this to distract people from the issues before us…and we just have to remember every day that it’s a trap.”
