I love how the female doctor says the mother has changed. Not seeming to understand if shes wrong the girl is the one in danger not her.

To the people who want to know how it ended, the girl ended up choosing to not trust her mother. After she got better she waited for the right moment, then snuck out and left her mom behind

'But she's your mother' means nothing when that mother is a neglectful abusive drug addict. Coming in after two years of doing nothing to say 'oh my poor baby' means nothing except that she's still pretending and not taking responsibility for her actions. Abusers need to realise it doesn't matter how sorry they are, it's their victim who gets to decide when and if they want to forgive and that will happen on their timing.

Absolutely hate trying to paint the abusive mother as a redeemable victim of circumstance who needs to be forgiven or given a "second" chance.
And even worse that they imply its a journey to "Trust and Healing" when she's just lied to and gaslit over and over.

"She's your mom" has just as much meaning as "thoughts and prayers"

5:16 "I never meant to hurt my daughter."
And yet you did. You ain't in elementary school anymore, "I didn't mean to..." doesn't work when you're an adult because intentions don't always matter.
Everything that comes out your mouth is an explanation, not an excuse

People can change, but that doesn’t oblige people to trust that you have. Once those bridges are burned, they’re gone.

I hate how people will justify anything just because it's family

i like how each one of these episodes starts out like one of those 'what would you do' PSA videos they make you watch before you start a job. patient starts to show symptoms > collapses > doctor lists possible causes > video pauses a moment to let you think about what the conclusion might be > video resumes > deep explanation of what may be the cause > devise a solution > the end > lights turn on > manager: any questions?

I love how this show is called “House” and this girl is “Homeless”.

Child abuse is not something you just get over just because "she's your mother." Meh. Hate it when people think my mother should be automatically forgiven just because of that title.

There could be any number of reasons a child leaves home. A friend or family member sexually abusing them, physical or emotional abuse, fear of a parent’s partner and more.
The female Dr who contacted social services to find the mother was really overstepping.

But she's your mom is a dumb phrase when the mom is a drug addict.

I was homeless for a bit in 2021. My aunt found me and drove me "home." I'm moving in with my boyfriend in September and cutting all of them except my sister out of my life.

Did y’all mean “Good Luck Charlie” in the description instead of “Goodbye Charlie”?😂

In this context. Drug users can't be better on others if they can't get better themselves. The worst part about this is that people think parents are an exception. No issue on their judgement, just, how they judged.

I'll trust Dr House over any of the doctor's on Chicago Med.
