Pop Chords barbershop quartet WILE Radio 1959 #2 Cambridge, Ohio

Показать описание
To celebrate my father's (Gerald C. Bowman) 87th birthday, I am posting an audio recording of his first barbershop quartet the "Pop Chords". They did a live remote radio broadcast from Orme Hardware on the store's 90th anniversary in Cambridge, Ohio in 1959. They were featured on a radio show (in two parts) called the "Old Timers Club" hosted by WILE announcer Bill Cowls. The "Pop Chords" barbershop quartet was formed from members of the 2nd United Presbyterian Church choir of Cambridge. The "Pop Chords" were also members of the Zane Trace Chapter of the Johnny Appleseed District of S.P.B.S.Q.S.A. (Society for the Preservation of Barbershop Singing in America). The members of the "Pop Chords" were: Stewart McBride, lead; Harold Knouff, tenor; Bob Brower, baritone; and Gerald C. Bowman, bass. This video is dedicated to the memory of Dick McCoy 1953 - 2016.
