This would be the best song ever for a really good James Bond Film!

this is my favorite version... it is darker, more sorrowful... sends a bolt of insanity through my heart, mind, and soul...

While the world hears the upbeat version and thinks, "Oh, it's awesome to be crazy!" this version captures the reality.  You're never more alone than when you figure out that not only are you crazy, but the rest of the world is crazy as well, they're just in denial.

Like many here, I come back to this recording over and over and over again, year after year. CeeLo's voice is on glorious display in this alternate version of this amazing song. He sings the high lines beautifully, and the minimal accompaniment, the unembellished backing, is a perfect counterpoint to CeeLo's stunning lyrical highs. In this version, the sentiments of the song seem more mournful and contemplative but also somehow affirming. It's a godlike performance.

He barely opens his mouth and that BIG sound comes out. WOW. This is a great version of this song. It is most HAUNTING.

The fact that this video doesn’t have 50million+ views shows how much real music is dying in this generation such a sad feeling

One of the best performances of any song I’ve ever heard. They absolutely nailed the emotions they intended to convey.

This version is dark and soulful and moody. I love the rasp in his voice and how controlled his vibrato is.

I come back to this time to time because it has such a meaningful part of my life.
I used to listen to this in the darkest moments of my life. In a way it helped me to accept the emotions I was having and not hold them back. It's been 5 years since I almost took my life. This song helps me realise that space I was in and where I am now. I will never forget.

that guitarist is Josh Klinghoffer, he played in RHCP, you should check out his style if you enjoy it.

Not only a goosebumps.
That tune played a role in pivotal moment of my long time relationship, and this version came to me as a requiem for it, fifteen years later.

And will remain a requiem.

This version is like a funereal march into madness … deeply twistedly beautiful

I remember when I lost mind. When I saw this video and heard the changed version the first time.
I watched open-mouthed, covered in a single 4min and 43sec shiver. Head, shoulders, arms, thighs, neck prickled to maximum, eyes filled up with his unassuming and effortless mastery. Mastery itself, but also mastery at taking an old song and redoing it by putting it in a 1000 thousand chains of life experience, hurt, regret, loss, hope, quiet stoicism and steeled resilience.

I know nothing of Mr Barkley, other than his commercial pop beaty song from years ago. Nor care I to know anything, this could change the faultless picture I now have. He levelled up to god level, leaving me astounded. And shaking. Moved more than *most* music I've ever heard.

This version is super heavy. It’s phenomenal! This song takes on a much different meaning in this translation.

I remember when
I remember, I remember when I lost my mind
There was something so pleasant about that place
Even your emotions have an echo in so much space
And when you're out there without care
Yeah, I was out of touch
But it wasn't because I didn't know enough
I just knew too much
Does that make me crazy
Does that make me crazy
Does that make me crazy
Possibly
And I hope that you are having the time of your life
But think twice, that's my only advice
Come on now, who do you, who do you, who do you
Who do you think you are
Ha ha ha, bless your soul
You really think you're in control
I think you're crazy
I think you're crazy
I think you're crazy
Just like me
My heroes had the heart to lose their lives out on the limb
And all I remember is thinking I want to be like them
Ever since I was little
Ever since I was little it looked like fun
And it's no coincidence I've come
And I can die when I'm done
But maybe I'm crazy
Maybe you're crazy
Maybe we're crazy
Probably
