Dexter Scott King, an American civil rights activist and the youngest son of Martin Luther King Jr. died on Jan 22 at the age of 62 from prostate cancer.

Circa 1986, Dexter Scott King spoke about his father and the creation of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, saying, ‘The greatest gift that we could give him would be a gift of love, a gift of peace, a gift of unity.’

Martin Luther King III said about his brother’s death, ‘The sudden shock is devastating. It is hard to have the right words at a moment like this. We ask for your prayers at this time for the entire King family.’
