Look dude you are a smart person. You love your f430. You take good care of your f430. No one else will take as good of care of it. People will want to rent it just take take it out and full throttle it 90% of the time. Don't rent it

If you love your 430 don’t rent it out!!! As I am sure you know, the rental miles on any of the vehicles you rent out will be harsher than how you or Meg would have treated them.

Don’t forget GPS in every car!! If someone doesn’t return it, it isn’t a stolen car, it is a civil lawsuit....

Laws could be different in Texas. I was a police officer and we dealt, well not really dealt, we would get called to stuff like this all the time. We would explain, “...Well, you rented out the uhaul....” or “Well you gave the person the keys to the car....”

Makes it a lot suckier if you can’t list it with the PD as stolen....

I’d rent your f430! Question though, how does insurance work when renting cars through turo? What kind of policy do you need to protect your cars when people rent them ?

My buddy has a 2yr old rental business on Turo. He’s always told me ‘keep the personal cars personal and the rentals, rentals’. People just aren’t going to treat the Ferrari to your standards. Save yourself the frustration. Love the channel Dan, up and to the right!

As for the 458, I share your ambivalence about giving up your 430. When I purchased my car I had a choice between a 430 or 458. I chose the 430 for the following reasons

1) I wanted a convertible and 458 spider hides the engine
2) 458 seemed too digital, like playing Gran Turismo or something
3) 430 is last car with some vintage Ferrari styling cues. 458 comes from a new generation aesthetically (which can be good or bad, depending on taste)

Don’t get me wrong, it was a tough choice, the 458 drives waaay better. And also may be visually more well balanced. But in the end the 430 was the best fit for me.

How much would it cost to Turo your Ferrari? I am in Dallas, but might make a weekend trip out of it and drive down there. Curious on the price though. I would be hesitant to rent your Ferrari if I were you. People will rip of the front bumper left and right on curbs, and scratch and scuff your interior. But then again, I am extraordinary OCD about my cars.

Do most people buy Turo’s Add on insurance or rely on their own car insurance? I see that some of Turo’s insurance rares can be $26 - $76 a day. Also, I could not find a place in Turo or driveondemand to ask the owners (other than you) questions before renting. Example question on the Tesla: Is the mobile charger a 120v plugin and how long does it take to charge if used?
