Pep Guardiola reacts to Sean Dyche sacking

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has said he was "surprised" by the sacking of Burnley manager Sean Dyche, eight games before the end of the Premier League season.

Guardiola also refused to comment on the tension between his squad and Atletico Madrid players following their Champions League match on Wednesday.

Big big mistake by Burnley owners. No man is bigger than a club but Dyche would get Burnley back to the prem on threadbare funds. Be very surprised if Burnley bounce back after 1 season

Dyche was excellent at Watford. I hope he returns!
Top manager. If not, he'll get a better job so don't feel too sorry for him. I think Burnley will need to spend far, far more money in players, if they want the results Dyche gave them.

The owners probably felt they had to do something to try to change their fortunes for this season. Dyche didn't deserve to be sacked on the back of the work he's done for the past few years, but based on this season the sacking isn't unwarranted.
