Sole F85 Treadmill Review | Best Treadmill For Netflix?!

The Sole F85 Treadmill has been updated with a whole new design. This treadmill has been one of our top recommendations over the past few years and it continues to be. Even though it is sleeker, it still performs really well and has been given some really thoughtful upgrades.

What makes the Sole F85 great for home use is the fact that it folds up. You get assistance with the deck when it’s folded and you just have to pull the yellow handle on the back and the deck will lower to the floor when unfolded. This treadmill weighs about 319 lbs so it is a beast, but it’s actually not very hard to move. There are 4 transportation wheels so once it’s folded you can simply push it around where you need it to go. No tipping back is required.

The 4.0 horsepower motor is quiet and consistent to adjust. The F85 is appropriate for most spaces because it doesn’t generate much noise. This size motor is best for heavy use like long-distance training as well as multi-user households. So, if you’re looking for a treadmill to handle a lot of walking and running, the F85 is it.

The deck is large at 22” wide and 60” long. It can handle any sized user, up to 375 lbs, and any type of treadmill activity. The deck also inclines and declines so you have plenty of range to work with in your training, too. Something to keep in mind is that the cushioning in the deck is firm so it isn’t best if you have joint issues and discomfort, but it is great if you like running on a firmer surface.

The touch screen has been updated to be 15.6” so it is large and comes with a lot of included features. There are 10 onboard workouts, customizable workouts, and fitness tests. You can also just hop on and go by pressing start and doing your own thing in manual mode. For entertainment, there are 12 preloaded streaming apps like Netflix, Hulu, and Youtube to choose from. All you need to do is log into your respective account for each and start watching.

We really like that all of these features and workouts are included without an additional subscription fee. Our only complaint about the console is that the screen can be hard to reach and adjust while running so it’s best to have your show and workout cued up beforehand. That, and the fan is a little weak so you’ll probably need to plug in your own. Other than that, the Sole F85 Treadmill is really excellent. It is a solid machine that performed really well for us and you should check it out if you’re looking for a powerful treadmill for your home.

I bought the new F85 and he's a few of my thoughts. As a treadmill, it's fantastic. No issues there at all. As for the fans, worthless, don't even hit you. Charging pad is neat but I don't use it since your phone case has to be so thin. The screen is a good size but the user interface is pretty weird. It's crazy hard to use when you're even walking fast. The app integration is cool until something like HBO MAX being turned into just MAX and now I can't even use the app and there is no update for it. The sound is loud but it really bothers me that there is no bass at all. Like it sounds terrible. The screen mirroring app doesn't work with my phone, a S21 ultra, like I outright can't download it. As a Treadmill I think this is a great option and if you can deal with all of the quirks it's a great buy. I just hope at some point they fix some of these issues in the next model.

Hi, loved the review!! I've been trying to decide between this mill and the Horizon 7.8 AT. I'm an ultra runner therefore I do run a lot LOL! Plus I have 3 family members that will probably be using the treadmill as well but not nearly as much as me. The price is near the top of my budget but of course I'm looking for a mill that will endure my workouts. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!! Keep up the great work!

Important question. Is the brightness of the screen dimmable? My current F80 had a screen so bright, I had to go buy window tint and put 2 layers over it just so it wouldn’t hurt my eyes.

Hi TRG...re the Sole F85 (2023 model/15 inch screen) do know the maximum tablet size height that fits into the bracket above the screen ? Just wondering if the Samsung S8 tablet in landscape view at 21cm in height would fit in that bracket to give a great visual of Zwift. Many thanks. Great channel!!

One thing you didn't cover is the dashboard while you are running. I listen to my phone via Bluetooth, so I don't use any of the video on mills. I prefer to see the metrics on the dashboard. What does the screen show when you are running without using a video app? And does it show distance in 10ths or 100ths. I have owned several F85s and one of my few complaints is that the distance has only been shown in 10ths. I prefer to know how close I am to the next 10th when I glance at the display so having the hundredths place it helpful to me.

I purchased the new F 85 two weeks ago. It has all the features you need except very little works properly this unit Its not ready for prime time. First of all we got shocks. Every time we touched the heart monitor, and the unit was grounded properly then I was running on the unit and an error. Message came up communication error and the machine came to a full stop Very dangerous. The screen has frozen up. The stop button does not work. When you’re exercising you have to pull out the key which resets everything customer support is the worst. I called them several times waited 30 to 45 minutes and I seem to know more about the product and they do they actually told me this product is too new and we have no information on it yet Crazy.. be very careful when you lift up the treadmill into the fold mode. There is a piece of metal that is razor sharp I sliced my finger on it. Basically there is no customer support after spending $2500 so I returned the item in the store, they came and picked it up and I purchased a matrix T 30 where I can get customer support and have a sturdy machine with everything working on it. I tried to love this treadmill, but it was impossible..
