Vietnam is among several Southeast Asian countries that have benefited from the ongoing United States-China trade war. The country has seen a surge in foreign investments as more companies, seeking to avoid US tariffs on goods from China, choose to relocate there. With the US set to elect a new president, can Vietnam maintain its winning streak? CNA’s Tung Ngo finds out.

*International laws* are very clear on the South China Sea:
- parts of it belong to some ASEAN countries including Vietnam 🇻🇳,
- the rest of it is the international water,
- no part of it belongs to China🇨🇳 or Taiwan🇹🇼.

Vietnam will improve. It just takes time and will give companies alternatives to China.

From one "authoritarian" communist single party state, to another "authoritarian" communist single party state. That's US foreign policy for you.

Even Chinese firms moved to Vietnam 🇻🇳. LOL

Companies are already facing Labour shortages in vietnam. Apple supplier Luxshare had a hard time recruiting workers and even requested the government for labour. That's why they applied 6 times to enter india but were refused because they were Chinese.
Vietnam labour is also expensive, I think it's just a short restover country before moving to india. Only india has a size enough to be an alternative Factory to china.

AS THE CHINESE ECONOMY MOVES AWAY FROM LOW VALUE ADDED MANUFACTURING TO ADVANCED INDUSTRIES, THE CHINESE ECONOMY DOES NOT NEED THESE LOW VALUE ADDED MANUFACTURING. SO SENDING THESES JOBS TO VIETNAM MEXICO AFRICA IS A GREAT BUSINESS STRATEGY FOR CHINA. THE CHINESE BELT AND ROAD IS SMART..BY HELPING DEVELOP THESE NATIONS AND PROMOTING TRADE AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN VIETNAM MEXICO AFRICA LIFTS PEOPLE OUT OF POVERTY INTO THE MIDDLE CLASS OPENING NEW MARKETS FOR CHINESE MANUFACTURING AND ADVANCED GOODS THESE PEOPLE NEED FOR THEIR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. WIN WIN.CHONA IS LOSING NOTHING AT LEAST CHINA IS WINNING.
