Laura's Top Tips for Easter Revision
Показать описание
Laura is a 2nd year Environmental Science student at the University of Liverpool. Here are her 5 top tips for acing your revision this Easter!
1. Avoid passive learning - passive learning includes strategies like reading through textbooks, copying out notes and highlighting information. This isn’t an effective revision strategy.
2. Incorporate active learning techniques into your revision - engaging with the content you’re trying to learn increases your ability to retain the information you’re learning by up to 25%. Active learning includes making flashcards, making mind maps and teaching others.
3. When you’ve finished revising a topic make sure you apply your knowledge using exam questions - ensure you consult the mark scheme when you’ve finished with questions and use examiner reports to see example answers and common mistakes students make in exams.
4. Spaced revision - don’t do last minute cramming for exams, make sure you space out your revision to enable you to get a deeper understanding of the content.
5. Make a timetable to ensure you’re revising everything - this will also help you space out your revision. Make sure you take regular breaks and timetable in downtime.
Don’t forget - everyone is different and the revision technique your friend swears by may not work for you. Experiment with different ways of revising and stick with the ones you feel help you the most.
