9-20-2019 Houston, Tx Drone video of barge that slammed into I-10, flight under bridge showing damag

Heavy rains caused flooding of the San Jacinto River in Houston. The current ripped a couple barges loose which then went downstream and hit the I-10 Bridge. The barge did considerable damage, is still stuck under the bridge and I-10 is closed.

Drone video goes under bridge and shows extent of damage.

Second time this happened in less than a year the media never said who was responsible for it why does this keep happening an finally what is the coast guard going to do to prevent this from happening again those responsible should pay for repairs instead of the tax payers

I'm a Houstonian born & raised (living in FL for 24 yrs now). It hurts my heart to see this city & surrounding areas so devastated and only 2 yrs after yet another horrible hurricane. I think Mother Earth is VERY angry. I lived in the Northshore area just off I-10 @ Uvalde Rd.. I bet it is floating. WOW. So sorry. Hey are you kin to Red Adair?

This has added to my daily struggle. Changed jobs to cut my commute down and 2 days later this happens. Now what should take me 20 minutes to get home take almost 2 hours. Im from Houston and all I seen in my 50 year has been, traffic, construction, and flooding. Sick and tired of it already.

I live just over this bridge to the east and it was such a pain in the ass to get home. Rough times for everyone.

They just fixed that exact same section of the bridge a few months ago. The concrete (interior) is probably just drying, curing to be strong, and settling after these few months. I think we're done till early 2020 at best. Spring 2020 is probably optimistically realistic.

The barge company should be sued into bankruptcy for the damages and inconveniency it will cause drivers for months to come.  Drive time from Beaumont, Tx to Houston, Tx just went from 2 hours to 4 hours!

if those barges had hit something else as well as the bridge, then why do they have buoys out there? wow that river looks pretty muddy and stirred up. pretty crazy! Good drone shots.
