If not for this channel, I would have never seen this video. I really like the voices. As a kid, I would've loved to listen to something like this. It is always interesting to see real opera singers reactions because Simone will be judged for sure, by her peers. Last year, I heard a Christmas one with Robin Williams and composer John Williams on the classical station and it's interesting just how vocally talented some people are just in their speaking voices.

What a very unique & entertaining cover version of this song. I honestly think I like it better than the original. When I read Simone’s name I knew I’d seen it before, but not where. Then I wondered if she sang metal. And sure enough, the band Epica came up and I recalled she sings lead in that group. When I heard her husband’s backing parts, I was thinking he was down in bass. I have some bass range myself so sometimes I can recognize that low of a pitch. But yeah, all the switch-ups they did as far as distinctive voices and tones were just great. I guess maybe the character of Sally is written for a soprano? Amy Lee recorded an excellent rendition of “Sally’s Song” if you haven’t heard it. But overall, what a cool spin on a seasonal classic. Happy Halloween. 🕯️🕯️ 🎃 🕯️🕯️

This was in 2009 at Epica's one-off classical concert in Hungary, where they did a mix of their own songs and some classical material as well as some favourite film scores. It wasn't professionally filmed, but the audio was professionally recorded and released as the album "The classical conspiracy". So while the video in that link looks a bit scuffed because it was sourced from various mobile phones placed around the venue, the audio is taken from the album release and is thus of good quality.

So I would suggest that as a future reaction 🙂
