Spigen Rugged Armor Review for the AirPod Pro - I'm sold!

At MREH, Monty and I are reviewers. We use stuff and then we talk about them. Spigen’s not paying for this review and I’m only doing it because I want to know what the best Apple AirPod case is.

The Rugged Armor is overall much better than the Tough Armor and miles ahead of Amazon brands like ESR and JeTech.

BUT doesn’t offer the same amount of protection as products from Catalyst and UAG. That was tough to say, the part about UAG since their silicone case is so bad.

The Rugged Armor for the AirPod’s Pro looks like the Rugged Armor case for the iPhone’s. There is one difference that is a bummer for me BUT I do like the carbon fibre etching on the Rugged Armor. The Rugged Armor only comes in black so don’t get it if you don’t like black?

The Rugged Armor follows the general shape of the AirPod case and is made from silicone that has a slight matte finish to it. I do wish the texture was a bit more pronounce because it’s just a tad too slick.

There is a small loop for the carabiner so go hog wild in hanging it off things.

The Rugged Armor is a two piece case with an adhesive in the top cap to prevent it from popping off easily. This two piece design ensures that the satisfying click of the AirPod case is maintained. The case doesn’t get in the way of accessing the buds. Which seems like a silly thing to mention but I can’t say that for products from UAG. It’s odd…

CTA - Now I like the product but we’re still have a bunch of cases to review so we’ll have to see how well it does overall.

Now earlier I mentioned that there was a slight difference between the rugged armor for the iPhone and the rugged armor for the AirPodPro. This difference is in the finish of the non-CF portion of the product. On the iPhone case, there’s a decent amount of texture whereas the AirPod’s case is smooth which is why I say it’s just too slick. If Spigen added that to the Rugged Armor, this would be near perfect. But then they wouldn’t need this Caseology case…

When it comes to protection, the rugged armor will prevent your AirPod’s case from getting scuffed up from day to day use. I’m not sure the Rugged Armor will do anything for the buds because there’s a good chance that your buds are going to come flying out of the case.

Case looks nice, but the top came off mine twice so far. I'm not hard on my stuff away all, so it's just poor adhesive. I'll keep it until I find something else. I don't drop mine, so that hasn't been an issue.

It’s worth saying too that this case leaves “rubber scratches” on your actual AirPods Pro case. Mine was brand new with no scratches and I put this case on. Took off the case and now have these vertical lines that don’t go away..

Does spigen not sell the liquid air case for the airpod pros? The liquid air is available for the Galaxy Buds/+ AND it actually keeps the case closed when you drop it.

i just got a 6 bux silicon cover for my airpods pro thinking i might just pick a _later case_ in the future but honestly it’s just for the flex, i don’t think any case would make much difference compared to this cheap silicon one. i considered these spigens because i have a spigen case for my S10+ and it’s evidently rugged but most of the time i just take it out and toss it around and end up with my phone naked. if they sold airpod cases in matte space gray i would pay whatever for those and use them naked, at least this cheap one matches the color of the magic keyboard for ipad pro...

Can you do a review if it's worth it to buy some care for the AirPods or headphones from Apple in general? For AirPods, the warranty is only for one of them and twice so if I were to break the case I could only change the case or if I broke the AirPods I can only replace one of them. Sum up, only one claim at a time
