Hey Everyone! In this video, we'll be talking about how to graph piecewise functions. This algebra 2 tutorial contains 4 example problems where we are given a piecewise function, and we're asked to graph it. The graphs will be composed of lines and parabolas (quadratics).

the way you teach helps me so much. I've watched countless other videos trying to understand this before my test and you're the one person to actually help me learn.

Tbh this is the teaching style i am searching for full detail step by step and with tips that can help compared to school just putting random things without even saying the reasons why it was put there

Thank you, I watched so many videos and I did not understand. Luckily I found this one I was about to skip this part of my homework.

This may be something extremely small but I think another reason why you wouldn’t try to change the closed circle to an open one for problem 3 would be because you did it in the previous function(which has already been said) but we should also remember we are graphing one function f(x) all the ones we’re working on a kinda like sub-functions of the one. That’s why it’s called a piecewise function because we’re working with one function but in pieces; and probably why we have that bracket after f(x)=

For problem 3, wouldn’t you start -2x+4 on (4, 2) rather than (0, 2)? Since the y-intercept is b=4?

open circle (1, 4) closed circle (2, 2)
