granddad, a life long row crop farmer in Iowa, use to say that he worked 6 weeks in the spring tilling, planting, and cultivating, another 6 weeks in the fall harvesting and plowing. the rest of the year he was busy repairing and maintaining the equipment. and he was thrilled the first time he got 30 bushel beans.

Just saw Ur Brazil trip a year ago. First I find it odd that you work for Deere but didn't know Bauer built the largest Deere corn planter 120ft wide that you could get in Brazil (a few years ago when I would go to our farm down there) but could not get in the USA. Second, don't speak for the country of Brazil on crops, it was the area you were in. We didn't grow any cotton (south of you) and further south near our Vultra dealer that owned 300, 000 acres they only did corn beans and sugar cane, no cotton. They owned over 80 combines at that time, all red. I was in charge of buying new equipment and more real estate. I'm older now and out of it. Some of the planters went down to a 52, 000 acre farm east of where you were, the farmer was from Iowa.
