The customer quietly staring at you until you address them first or get mad and leave is SO REAL. I work a bakery and there will be someone just staring at you for a solid twenty minutes until you ask them something.

Like I’m sorry I’ve learned more often than not people are just browsing the display cases and want to be left alone. They don’t like the pressure of a vulture asking them if they need help they’ll run away


I do go out of my way to talk to older folk though they seem to linger because they’re unsure and they love to chat almost always
