If someone wounder why WiFi use technology developed for military, it is to avoid noise. Signal transmitted on one channel can be easy dulled. It is why radio-stations use special strong antennas. But if we scramble signal on many channels we can easier transmit them on short distances, as even with buzz it would not impact noticeably transmission in general.
