this plane has a constant speed prop. throttle controls air to the engine. mixture controls amount of fuel to engine. manifold pressure controls the pitch of the prop. i think this is basically how this plane functions. almost verticle pitch on take off, i.e, prop is close to perpindicular to the ground and more toward a 45 degree angle to the ground at cruising altitude. high manifold pressure at take off low manifold pressure at altitude.
