Oberammergau Germany - Cuckoo Clocks | Oakland Travel

After we toured Linderhof Palace, we boarded the bus bound for Neuschwanstein Castle. Along the way, we stopped at a tiny little village in the Ettal region called Oberammergau. We visited the Passions theatre and learned about the upcoming 2020 Passion Play and purchased a cuckoo clock from Souvenir Furtner.

Enjoyed seeing the video from Oberammergau (a village I was fortunate enough to live in for 3 years). Unfortunate you didn't have more time to spend exploring as it is one of the world's foremost wood carving centers (not really known for it's cuckoo clocks which are more associated with the Black Forest region of Germany). The festival she mentioned was the Passionsspiele which has been put on by the village since the mid 1600s, every 10 years. Covid did it in this year and it was postponed until 2022. A good reason to go back. Happy travels and glad you enjoyed your trip.
