It seemed to me there was a little upturn in his voice on the last word with one little finish of a chuckle at the end. We all hear (and see, and smell, etc.) things a little differently. Maybe I'm right, maybe not. I just seem to be able to "see him" in my mind's eye kind of putting up his hands and saying that with a bit of a mocking tone.

On road courses, not all teams have enough people to have spotters in more than to two "official" spots. Haven't seen the video yet (I'm going to watch a complete version of it), but some things said to some drivers could have come from the crew chief watching a satellite feed from the pit box (in which there is a delay), and you're hearing the conversations late (also due to a delay to edit language on the fly).

Yeah, why did he tell him when he was driving away? The spotter should have been aware. Allen was plenty aware. I kind of felt bad for him. Please!

I'm not positive at all, but going by the damage I imagine the 36 checked up and the 87 didn't.
