In regards to college campuses, as a student is it legal to keep my firearm in my vehicle while I am attending class?
In reference to title 21 1289.13a, and 1289.33 it stipulates that the public roadway is a safe spot while transporting firearms through a school zone. Furthermore as a CCW holder parking my vehicle in a school parking lot, still considered a public roadway under 1289.33, it is legal to leave my firearm in my vehicle safe and secured in a storage compartment. Correct???

Regarding Illinois, I am a truck driver with an Oklahoma SDA License who passes through that state very often. I was under the impression that even though they do not have reciprocity, 430 ILCS 66/40 allows non-residents that have a permit from their home state to carry a loaded, concealed handgun in their vehicle but not in public, and that firearm must be secured in a locked container when you leave your vehicle? Is this the case and what happens if I ever had to use deadly force?
