This is quite intersting thanks for posting Greg. Im a global health and policy practitioner in Botswana. Sub Saharan Africa region contributes the least of any region in the world to global warming yet they bear the highest burden to the effects of climate change as already much of this has been experienced. For instance in Southern Africa where the boarders are very porous diseases such as malaria, yellow fever & other water borne disease etc are on the rise; and the weak health systems are finding it difficult to meet the increased demands. We have experinced long periods of drought followed by flooding in some parts posing a problem for agricultural production and also destroying the infrastructure leaving many homeless.
As it is the Region is trying to step up its efforts to combat global warming in order to safe guard its future; however there are many other competing individual country priorities. Im a strong believer though that with the right policies in place and equitable distribution of resources the effects of climate change in Sub Saharan Africa can be mitigated.

Great video as normal thank you! What are your thoughts on animal agriculture and climate change? Should we be eating more of a reduced meat, plant-based diet to improve our health and reduce climate change? A topic for another video maybe?!

Great stuff Greg and good to see your passion shining through. Perhaps you need another angle to present on this the next time and that is the opportunities for health in addressing Green House Gases and the pollutants associated with their production. Improved air quality, less consumption of red meat, clean energy generation and more exercise cycling to work will bring about massive health and economic benefits as sell as meet our mitigation obligations.

I am curious what your opinion on the individual's impact is. I am interested in studying public health on more the anthropological level, and seeing how patterns in a community's culture affects how they live an everyday life (ie- energy use, food consumption, material possession, etc).

Very interesting and complex subject raised, Dr. Martin ! I would like to work in healthcare field with profession related to both biology and economics. I figured that in this case I should aim at Healthcare administration (management), but found it only on Master's level in the vast majority of universities, this is why I chose to begin with bachelor in public health field (health and social sciences). It wasn't until few days ago that I started to have second thoughts about accuracy of my decision.Will that kind of bachelor degree allow me to shift focus to managerial (administrative) part of healthcare( because "health and social sciences" programme seems to offer too much of a theory that I'm struggling to understand where to apply) ? The bachelors I'm talking about are offered by the Universities of Edinburgh and the University of Sheffield. Thank you in advance for response !
