Episode 2 of our new ScienceSea TV mini-series titled "Diving in: Exploring Women in STEM". This mini-series highlights women in the ocean sciences who are breaking down boundaries, making new discoveries, and having fun! In this episode, host Amber Sparks is joined by the 2019-2020 Australasian Rolex Scholar Joanna Smart. Originally from Tasmania, Joanna is a PADI scuba instructor and commercial diver with a background in marine and antarctic science and environmental consulting. We join Joanna for a behind the scenes look at her travels around the world as a Rolex and Our World Underwater Society Scholar, and learn about her experiences exploring sustainable solutions for the issues facing the marine environment.
