I have been OBSESSED with Demon Slayer for the last two years and just NOW am I finally getting around to drawing all my faves from this show!! So here's my take on Rui from Kimetsu No Yaiba, or Demon Slayer!

It is confirmed that Rui was one of muzan’s favourite due to how powerful he could’ve been had he not split his powers between his « family » which means that tanjiro was very lucky when they first encountered

It could be the case, but honestly, Muzan most likely wouldn’t have any emotions that are close to empathy and pity. Judging by his current personality and actions, he probably only killed the other lowermoons because,
1. He realised all of them are weak,
Or
2. He saw that Rui died and was disappointed and angry and basically just took his anger out on the others.

Rui is one of Muzan's favorite demons.
Rui still hadn't lost all his memories so he created a family. Muzan said that if Rui didn't share his blood with his family members he would've been so much more powerful!

Rui was by far my favorite lower moon, he had so much potential. He was simply wrong place wrong time.

I remember hearing a theory like this and it does make sense. Rui and Muzans backstop are similar so it makes sense that he might show some sort of grief. He may have just been mad that he died and realized the rest were weak. Rui was a favorite of Muzans though and may have been his favorite Kizuki altogether
